Individualized Home Supports (IHS)
Core Habilitation Service

Service Overview
What Are Individualized Home Supports?
The Minnesota Department of Human Services recognizes Individualized Home Supports as services that provide support and/or training in community living skill areas such as daily living, health/safety, adaptive skills, and community participation.
These services are habilitative — they build or maintain function, not just "caregiving." IHS focuses on empowering individuals to develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities.
IHS services are authorized through BI, CAC, CADI, or DD waivers and are tailored to each individual's person-centered plan.
